John Horton
Co-President
Real Estate Development '21
John Horton is a senior from Newport Beach. He is pursuing a major in real estate development and a minor in entertainment industry. His love for real estate began at a young age while looking at residential properties with his family. John is currently interested in commercial development and the impact it has on urban growth. He hopes to use what he learns in TREA and other experiences in the industry to open his own development company in the future. Outside of TREA, John is involved in Greek life and Trojan knights. He is also an avid sailor.

Nicolas Sterling

Nicolas Sterling is a senior at the Sol Price School of Public Policy, majoring in Real Estate Development. Growing up in New York City, Nicolas was intrigued by the constant revitalization of many Manhattan neighborhoods and the role developers played in creating economic opportunity. Over the past few years, Nicolas has gained experience in a variety of areas in Real Estate, working at Bellwether Asset Management and Turner Construction among others. Additionally, Nicolas is a member of the Los Angeles Urban Land Institute chapter. side from his professional interests, Nicolas enjoys cooking, exploring LA’s great hiking and traveling.”

Keaton Yellin
 VP of Mentorship
Business & Real Estate Finance '22
Keaton Yellin is a Junior studying Real Estate Finance within USC's Marshall School of Business. Having been born and raised around the Los Angeles area – Keaton was able to see, first-hand, the tremendous growth and positive effects the development of Real Estate can have on a community. Keaton always wanted to do something tangibly impactful after college, but it wasn’t until he joined the Trojan Real Estate Association this past year when he realized that Commercial Real Estate was his perfect fit. In the Summer of 2019, Keaton interned at Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate firm that leads the nation in commercial investment sales while simultaneously specializing in financing and research/advisory services. This past Summer, Keaton was a Summer Analyst for Kennedy Wilson - a publicly traded, global real estate investment company that is a major player in all facets of the industry. Outside of TREA, Keaton is also apart of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), MREFA, and NAIOP SoCal. In his free time, Keaton religiously follows sports and considers himself a “superfan” of the LA Lakers.

Caroline Eastman

Caroline is a senior majoring in Business Administration in the Marshall School of Business with a minor in Real Estate Development. She has been a member of TREA since fall of her freshman year and is pursuing a career path in Real Estate Finance. Caroline has interned for Jones Lang LaSalle under their Capital Markets division and Xebec Realty with their Acquisitions team. She has loved her experiences within the Commercial Real Estate field thus far and is passionate about connecting as many TREA members with professionals from diverse backgrounds within the industry. Aside from her pursuits in real estate, Caroline can be found reading a good book, attempting to cook a new recipe or exploring the great outdoors.

Adenike Makinde

Adenike Makinde is a junior at the University of Southern California majoring in Real Estate Development and minoring in Disruptive Innovation. She is originally from Atlanta, GA and spent most of her childhood summers in Washington DC. To know Adenike is to know her passion for analyzing the world around her. Architecture and design drew her to commercial real estate; she now focuses on understanding the intricacies to the finance side of the field. Adenike has recently interned with Farpoint Development and Artemis Real Estate Partners and is an upcoming summer analyst for the Blackstone Group. She is most looking forward to building genuine relationships with TREA members throughout the school year. Outside of her studies and TREA, Adenike is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), USC Helenes, USC WYSE, the Trojan Investing Society, and also serves as a Student Ambassador/Tour Guide to the university. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, photography, and graphic design.

Brianna Perez

Brianna Perez is a sophomore double majoring in Business Administration and Real Estate Development. A native to Southern California, she has grown up inspired by the commercial and residential development surrounding her in the Greater Los Angeles area. This past summer she worked as an intern for a residential real estate firm, Flipping Unleashed, generating leads, assessing properties for economic viability, and putting properties on the market. She is interested in pursuing a career within commercial development and finance. Brianna is also involved in an entrepreneurship organization, Sigma Eta Pi, where she serves as a director of the Founder’s Education program. Aside from her academic pursuits, Brianna enjoys dance, travel, learning about other cultures, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Adam Wright is a senior at the Marshall School of Business with a major in Business Administration and minor in Real Estate Development. Growing up between Toronto, Canada and Dubai, UAE, Adam became fascinated with the development of dynamic places for people to enjoy, while benefiting surrounding communities. Over the past year, Adam has gained experience within asset management and acquisitions interning with Pinnacle Capital Management Services—an owner, operator, and manager of commercial and medical office properties throughout California. Adam is excited to connect with TREA members navigating the various facets of the real estate industry. Outside of TREA, Adam is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leaders Group and the Marshall Real Estate Finance Association. In his free time, Adam enjoys exploring Los Angeles, traveling, and cooking.

Ryan Deri

Ryan Deri is a Senior majoring in Geodesign. Housed in Price, Dornsife and Architecture, her major studies the intersections between Real Estate Development, Architecture and Mapping. Ryan grew up in Manhattan but has moved to Beijing, Vero Beach and now Los Angeles. With that, she has grown to be fascinated by how cities construct their built environment to create places for people. Gaining experience with a residential construction group, and now with the commercial developer and operator, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, Ryan has solidified her passion for creating large scale, mixed use urban spaces. Ryan looks forward to spending the next school year working with and learning from the other talented members of E Board. Outside of TREA, Ryan enjoys cooking, running and traveling with family and friends.

Morgan Van Zandt

Morgan is a senior pursuing a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance from the Marshall School of Business. Morgan was born and raised in Southern California and holds a strong interest in real estate asset management and private equity. Morgan is attracted to the commercial real estate industry because of her interest in creating tangible value through various investment vehicles. She has acquired a broad range of experience, including working with distressed asset investments at Wilshire Financial Network and lease negotiation at Property Management Associates. As the Director of Communications, Morgan is excited to expand TREA’s social media presence and work to create a valuable virtual experience. Outside of TREA, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with family.
